What is stomatitis

I think this is familiar to almost everyone. Most people have suffered from such troubles at least once in their lives.

Let’s see what it is and why stomatitis appears.

Stomatitis is an inflammation of the oral mucosa.

He has a lot of manifestations. These can be superficial erosions, sores, blisters, or just redness. They are single or multiple, rarely occur up to 1 time in several years or regularly several times a year.

Causes of stomatitis in the mouth
The most common:

Microtrauma, which can occur with inaccurate cleaning, due to sharp edges of teeth or fillings, with food injury, dentures.
Treatment at the dentist: the mucous membrane dries up, or there is simply such a reaction to the intervention.
There may also be the following reasons why stomatitis appears in the mouth:

Allergic reaction: common, including in the mouth.
Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract: often characterized by rashes in the mouth.
Galvanic syndrome, when there are different metals in the oral cavity, for example, stamped and metal-ceramic crowns.
Herpetic eruptions: occur not only on the lips, but also in the mouth.
Diabetes mellitus: as a result of dry mucous membranes.
As a manifestation of immunodeficiency, for example, in HIV and cancer.

This is a simple minimum:

Do not injure, that is, eliminate irritating and spicy food, correct everything that scratches the oral cavity, brush your teeth carefully.
Treat the mucous membrane with a healing gel (for example, “Solcoseryl”).
Rinse the mouth with an antiseptic (for example, Miramistin).
All other drugs, if necessary, are prescribed by a dentist.

Important! Do not self-medicate, poultices and lotions, if there is no improvement within 3-4 days, you should definitely go to the doctor.
